Integration Health & Performance Metrics Report

Why does Indeed monitor the health and performance of ATS integrations?

We work hard with our ATS partners to build technical integrations between our platforms to enhance job seeker experience on Indeed and improve employers’ hiring processes and performance. We must work together with our ATS partners to ensure that integrations are functioning and performing at the level that job seekers and employers have come to expect. With that goal, Indeed actively monitors the health and performance of our technical integrations.

 Health Metrics

What are Indeed’s Integration Health Metrics?

Indeed’s integration health metrics evaluate the extent to which an integration enables functionality. Our health metrics are currently focused on whether or not a job application can be completed on Indeed.  Percentage of Jobs with Indeed Apply and Percentage of Companies with Indeed Apply are the metrics that Indeed currently uses to measure an integration's health. In the future, Indeed may expand health metrics to include other areas of focus.

How are these Health Metrics calculated?

% of Jobs with Indeed Apply

We measure the total number of unique jobs sent to Indeed in an ATS feed in a time period, and we measure the number of those jobs that have Indeed Apply enabled. The number of jobs that have Indeed Apply is divided by the total number of jobs in the feed.

% of Companies with Indeed Apply

We measure the total number of companies represented in an ATS feed in a time period, and we measure the number of those companies that have Indeed Apply enabled. The number of companies that have Indeed Apply is divided by the total number of companies in the feed.

What does Indeed consider a healthy integration?

We consider an integration “healthy” when the percentage of companies and jobs in a feed with Indeed Apply enabled exceeds 80%.

Why 80%?

With 80% of companies and jobs with Indeed Apply, job seekers can reasonably expect to use their Indeed Resume to apply to jobs they are looking for on Indeed.

Performance Metrics

What are Indeed’s Integration Performance Metrics?

Indeed’s integration performance metrics measure the output of the integration or the extent to which the integration produces the intended results. Since our integrations are established to enhance job seeker experience on Indeed and improve employers’ hiring processes, integration results demonstrate how job seekers interact with jobs and the level of employer engagement with Indeed.

The metrics that Indeed currently uses to measure the performance of the integration are:

  • Search: Impressions and Organic Impressions, Clicks and Organic Clicks
  • Indeed Apply: Applications on Indeed and associated Apply Rate.
  • Advertiser: Spending Companies and % of Spending Companies

In the future, Indeed may expand performance metrics to include other areas of focus.

How are these Performance Metrics calculated?

Impressions

We count the number of times that jobs in an ATS feed were listed in search results on the Indeed site during the quarter, and we count how many of those impressions were “organic,” meaning that the jobs were listed in search results without being part of a sponsored campaign.

Clicks

We count the number of clicks that jobs in an ATS feed received when listed in search results on the Indeed site during the quarter, and we measure how many of those clicks were “organic,” meaning that the jobs were listed in search results without being part of a sponsored campaign.

Applications

We count the number of times a job seeker applied to jobs in an ATS feed on the Indeed site during the quarter.

Apply Rate

We calculate this metric as the total number of Applications divided by the total number of clicks in a time period.

Spending Companies

We count the total number of companies represented in an ATS feed in a time period with active advertising campaigns. Note that this number represents all spending companies and not only those spending through a Sponsored Jobs Integration. This number may differ from the one used to calculate the payouts for partners with a Sponsored Jobs Integration and a referral contract in place.

% Spending Companies

We calculate this metric as the number of spending companies divided by the total number of companies represented in an ATS feed in a time period.

What is the YoY change percentage?

Each metric includes the Year over Year (YoY) in percentage terms.

As an example, for an integration that has:

  • 150 jobs in Q2 2019
  • 100 jobs in Q2 2018

The YoY change reported will be 50%, meaning we saw an increase of 50% compared to the number of jobs in the same time frame (same quarter) in the previous year.

For integrations that have not yet been live for a full year, no YoY change percentage is displayed.
